Cook Me Quickly

There’s not much hydrogen, oxygen, dirt to go ‘round

So cook me quickly

Return me to the ground

Don’t mourn my passing

I’m always there

Each leaf on tree, each bird in air

It’s been a ride, my time on earth

Pure people known, such fun, such mirth

So cook me quickly

Release dried up bones

It’s all I’ve left but

Think what I’ve known

Vast glorious skies, sparkling sea views

Grandbabies’ smiles, tight traffic queues

So cook me quickly

Let me go, no sadness please

No burial slow

Just flames and heat and sparks of joy

Cook me quickly

Sit back, enjoy.
